CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE FACEBOOK PAGE FOR J.R.R. TOLKIEN'S THE HOBBIT!
Good news for you newfangled social media types out there...today I launched a Facebook page for J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit! In addition to visiting this webpage, you can also check out the Facebook page for any news, updates and links. Right now the page is pretty sparse since I just created it, but it will gradually begin to fill itself with content as we get closer to the end of the year. Which brings me to my next big news! Warners Bros announced the Battle of Five Armies Extended Edition will be released on November 17 in the US...which means that the final version of this fanedit will be available by December 1, 2015 or sooner! This will be a digital release first, followed by DVD/Bluray ISO files.

Yes, out of the requested changes that I listed in a previous blog post, I have fixed the top four! Which means the eagle sequence is back in, Smaug no longer is covered in gold, Azog gets a bit more screentime, and we briefly see Legolas warn Gandalf about the northern orc army.

Hi Dustin just a brief word of continued encouragement to you. I for one am far more interested in your final edit as an ongoing winter watch rather than the Peter Jackson edit. I am curious that the EE for this final film is only the length of the previous theatricals. If the 20 minutes is important to the story telling it will beg the question why bother with an E.E. After all one of the reasons for going the three film route was to get the material on the big screen. Apart from being curious about the 20 minutes I am fascinated to hear their commentary, to give them credit they are alway honest about their choices which enables us to respectively disagree with their priorities.

Thanks Michelle, nice to hear from you. I am very interested to see the extra 20 minutes of footage, in addition to the behind-the-scenes material that we haven't really seen much of for BOFA.

This is a scene that was supposed to be in TBOTFA... is there a possibility to edit this into your edit? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2KtSW2woks Leave a Reply. |
AboutThis page is dedicated to my ongoing fanedit project for The Hobbit trilogy, titled J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. The plan is to edit three mediocre films into one (hopefully) excellent film. Click here to jump straight to the Downloads Page. Archives
