It's May 4, and that means that Rogue One: The Battle of Scarif is now available for download! Again, please make sure that you already legally own a copy of Rogue One before downloading. This fan edit would not have been possible if it weren't for the actual film and all the people who worked hard to bring it to life.
There are two options available- torrent link and a direct download via MEGA. Remember, the torrent will go quicker as more people seed it! I may make additional options available soon, but the torrent and MEGA links should be enough for now. Visit the Downloads Page here. The Battle of Scarif is just under 50 minutes long, making it a nice little companion piece to the original theatrical release. Alternatively, you could watch this right before A New Hope! The main point of this edit is to focus on the epic battle sequence from Rogue One, while also adding elements to make it fit in more with the other Star Wars films. This means, among other things:
Hopefully you enjoy this edit- AFTER you've made sure you own a copy of the original film, of course. And please leave comments or feedback!

Something's off with your torrent file, mate (Chrome, Windows 7 64-bit).

Really? I've downloaded it from a separate computer and didn't notice any issues. What problem are you having with it?

Hey, question on your edit. You said in an earlier post that Leia’s scene has been cut. What was your reasoning to keep it in the film?

I decided that even though Leia's CGI was kind of weird, it wrapped the film up nicely. I just wish the scene would have been longer...from a pacing standpoint it just moves too quickly.

Downloaded it and I'm seeding! I was wondering if you're planning on releasing DVD covers for this one as well. It's not as big of an edit as your Hobbit edit, but I'm just wondering.

You did a good job adding John William's score, it makes the film tolerable, and it proves that you can polish a turd, but rogue one is still a turd of a movie.

Thanks Peter. I do think that Disney is taking the Star Wars films in a direction I'm not entirely fond of. People like to insult George Lucas for the prequels and his meddling with the OT, but he still created that universe and Star Wars doesn't feel the same without his involvement now.

The inclusion of the crawl and JW music is absolutely amazing! Great work mate! Any chance you might edit the whole movie? I would love to see the opening crawling in the beginning of the movie, plus with more JW music.

Thanks! No plans to make a full edit of Rogue One really...I'd like to see if we get another Bluray release down the line with deleted scenes and stuff. But the idea of adding more JW music is tempting...

Aww darn. I think you would do a great job doing a full edit. In the words of Palpatine, "Do it!" We probably will get another Bluray release of Rogue One later this year. Right before The Last Jedi comes out.

Dustin, thank you! Someone who understands how much music means to a movie. I really enjoyed watching your version of rogue one much more than the original version. It's so much more like Star Wars and had me on the edge of my seat for that battle, unlike when I saw it in the theater. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this I hope others do too. Well done! I used to only enjoy the last 5 minutes of Rogue One, not anymore!

Enjoying your edit very much. However, the. Erosion I downloaded is Dolby 2.0 not 5.1. Any plays on a full 5.1 mix?

You make it sound as though the increased leadership role of Cassian is a bad thing. The story no longer focuses on the Jyn father/daughter relationship, so she's simply a soldier, so is Cassian. It'd be difficult to change Cassian coming to Jyns rescue without removing a good portion of Krennic either.

I love the concept behind the edit but i must say that i didn't liked John Williams score of almost, if not all the OT and PT, in the edit.

- Vader's voice and dialogue are noticeably from other movies in some parts, you could have left "the aspirations line"

I disagree completely, that pun was one of the worst things about Rogue One for me, and I'm glad it's been replaced in this edit. Although I would have preferred no dialogue there at all as it would have made the choking more menacing in my opinion.

The switch of Vader's voice around the 4:30 mark is really weird and is entirely different from the rest of the dialogue. It sounds like Darth Vader got a new voice all of the sudden.

I agree. This was the ONLY thing that bothered me about this edit. I thought it was very clever and perfectly executed to frame the story with a Vader intro/ending. But that voice change was very jarring... hoping for a 2.0 with a fix (better audio mix).

I would suggest 2 more edits. 1. When Jyn says "May the Force be with us" after entering the ship before they go to Scarif. 2. When the rebels are gathering to fly and help Jyn and the crew, cut the loud speaker guy saying "May the Force be with you".

One other thing I would re-order is the ending of the movie. You watch this and ending, and then ANH and it just seems silly and childish to say that you are a consulate ship when you literally just undocked from Vaders destroyer and he is chasing you. Instead, it should have a cut where the destroyer is chasing Leia's ship, reverse the undocking so it looks like it is docking to be boarded by Vader, then show Vader's bad ass moment and cut to Leia saying "Hope".
